Mackenzie is my absolute best friend from home. We’ll make it through everything, I’m sure of it.
Pierce is my best friend that’s in that for-some-reason separate dude category, and I can say that Pierce is the friend that has always treated me the best. I appreciate his friendship on an immense level.
God, I love too many people. Keely, whose craziness I admire in so many aspects. That goes for Taylor, too. Gunnar, who is my favorite person to be around when I’m stressed out because his chillness keeps me calm.
And then I have my fabulous new friends here. Hannah who takes care of me, Francesca who makes me laugh, Bryce who makes me “aww” all the time.
OH JEEZ. This is too much. I’m basically a TV fanatic. For a long time, it was The Office, and I can still quote it fairly well. I mean, Jordan has sent me a few pictures of the episode he’s watching and I’ve rattled on with a series of quotes and whatnot. But now it’s most definitely How I Met Your Mother (I jumped off the ship last season when The Office got terrible, but I’m watching it again). How I Met Your Mother wasn’t so good last season either, but they’re also turning around.
Neil Patrick Harris is my favorite person ever, maybe.
But I’m also abnormally obsessed with Gilmore Girls, Arrested Development, and Friends.
Day 2: Talk about your piercings or tattoos, if you have any.
Oh, I remember when there was a time I found my sister ridiculous and declared, “I’ll never get a tattoo!” I think I may have even said something along the same lines with piercings.
I’ve got 4 piercings currently, and I used to have my lip done. That’s ears (boring, and one ear likes to close up constantly), cartilage (I quite like this one actually), bellybutton (I forget it’s there by this point), and my nose (which is fresh and I still find to be quite fun).
I miss my lip ring, actually. But my piercings are way less significant than my tattoo.
My quotation marks were my first tattoo. I got them on my birthday with my best friend (she didn’t get the same thing; she got “miles to go” from a Robert Frost poem on her inner elbow). As I fancy myself a bit of a writer, I hope to always be writing. For me, that’s what they are. They’re blank. They will never be filled. Keep writing.
My second tattoo was a gift from my sister for graduation, and it’s the state motto of my homestate: “she flies with her own wings.” It’s obviously got versatile meanings and it’ll always be an encouraging word when I need one. Home is with me always.
“Why haven’t we fixed sick yet? You scientists there— put down those starfish and HELP us. I hereby demand that all the people who are good at math make the world free of illness. The rest of us will write you epic poems and staple them together into a booklet.”—Daniel Handler
“There are few people whom I really love, and still fewer of whom I think well. The more I see of the world, the more am I dissatisfied with it; and every day confirms my belief of the inconsistency of all human characters, and of the little dependence that can be placed on the appearance of merit or sense.”—Jane Austen (via quotewhore)
